Voice Therapy and Vocology

Our goal is to coordinate and strengthen the connections between mind, body, breath and voice. Integrate these creative elements of ourselves and everything improves.

The Wilson Method is a physiologically-based holistic system that is extremely effective for those suffering from vocal issues including hoarseness, vocal fatigue, spasmodic dysphonia, pain, tremors and vocal fold lesions such as polyps, nodules or cysts, as well as stuttering and stammering.

The Wilson Method’s primary therapeutic focus is on those who are described as “Occupational Vocalists”. These are people who work in a vocation that necessitates heightened demands on the vocal mechanism. Teachers, singers, actors, public speaking professionals, therapists, media hosts, lawyers and fitness instructors have all enjoyed great success with The Wilson Method.

David Wilson's works toward a more holistic understanding of the body/mind connection to the human voice.

Vocal issues rarely have anything to do with the voice. Muscle Tension Dysphonia (MTD), while presenting at the larynx or through patholgy, is not where the cause is to be found.

Virtually all people who suffer from vocal issues have specific muscle tension, fascial remolding, thought patterns and breathing issues that are directly responsible for the vocal challenges.

Due to the rigors and/or traumas of life, the mind, body, voice and breath become disconnected from each other. Integrating trauma-informed voice work, breath therapy and restorative yoga, The Wilson Method works with these underlying issues, offering instant, effective and lasting change in vocal health.
